One year from the beginning of the escalation of the war in Lebanon

Exactly one year ago, on September 23, 2024, Lebanon was hit by massive bombing and an exodus of people from the south. This day is symbolically considered the beginning of a brutal war. However, the war was present in Lebanon before, and it continues to be present today, despite the ceasefire. Our joint activities undertaken with Caritas of the Archdiocese of Łódź can be divided into three phases:

• Phase I - until September 2024, when we supported residents of the South primarily as a part of the project “Light For” , “Warmth For” ,“First Step” and the activities of “YBTE”,  Slowly we started to use for this project name "Solidarity with Nabatieh".
• Phase II - from escalation to the ceasefire, during which we provided emergency aid (including financial support for over 120 displaced families and assistance with trauma recovery).
• Phase III - from the ceasefire to the present, during which we are focusing on repairs to the damage in Beirut (16 apartments so far) and the reconstruction of the nursery at the Sisters Antonines School in Nabatieh, with additional emergency support for residents of the South and scholarships for their children.

So far only for the phase II and III we spent more than 68 000$ from which a big ammount was recived directly from the Vatican.
