Solidarity with Aleppo: 2,5 years after the earthquake

It's been two and a half years since the tragic earthquake in Syria and Turkey. Remember that, together with Caritas of the Archdiocese of Łódź, we immediately stepped in to help, launching the "Solidarity with Aleppo" project.

We initially planned to support the emergency aid organized by the Franciscans from the parish of St. Francis in Aleppo, but there was a need to redirect funds to housing reconstruction.

So far, in Aleppo, we have helped renovate 13 apartments and one workplace, and supported the reconstruction of the damage in Terre Sainte caused by the rocket attacks in December 2024.

In addition to renovations, we have conducted other initiatives to support the residents of Aleppo, such as "First/Second Step", “Give a Job!” and "Warmth For" . Last year we also began supporting the return of Christians to villages in Idleeb (Solidarity With Idleeb), by rebuilding seven destroyed homes and supporting children's education and emergency aid.

The total cost of these initiatives to date has been $300,000 and €45,000. Please see the PDF file attached below for more information and individual stories of the people we have helped.
