A short story of one Lebanese school

A short story of one Lebanese school

"There are 1,200 children in our school, half of whom are Muslims, both Shiites and Sunnis. Education goes beyond religious divisions, promoting civic values. Currently, we are in a dramatic financial situation, our teachers have been working for free for 7 months" - sister Hiam Habib, director of the Baby Jesus School in Fakehe.

Going to the Syrian border to Ras Baalback, we expected everything, but not that we would meet such wonderful people and children studying in a well-kept facility, where even a theater hall was built ("Children from nearby villages may never have the opportunity to see the performance, so we built a special place where we put on plays ourselves ").

Currently, the Fakehe school is struggling with problems that affect the vast majority of schools in Lebanon - lack of money for salaries for teachers, shortage of fuel to transport children from nearby villages, and the need to cover the cost of tuition fees for most children (parents discharge children from schools due to lack of money) or refusal to accept them for another year.

This is where Christianity begins, it is from such places that our brothers first emigrate to larger cities, and then leave their Homeland - our Homeland. Let's provide help for such places!

Domus Orientalis and Caritas of the Archdiocese of Lodz we mainly help in Beirut, so we are publishing direct contact to the Sisters, counting on your ideas and contacts to support their beautiful Mission!
